In recent years a lot has changed regarding the growing locations of Wagenaar Lelies. In 1971 the production was started in the Dutch Heerhugowaard and later also on Texel.
In 1986, it was decided to grow in Drenthe. A location that proved to be the best option qualitatively. Due to the increasing demand for Longiflorums and various Orientals from France, part of the production is grown in the French Bordeaux from 2004 onwards.
Keeping lily bulbs out of the Northern Hemisphere all year round is a difficult, if not impossible task. In order to be able to offer stable and fresh quality bulbs and flowers, an opposing climate was sought in which the harvest time could be shifted for six months.
The South American Chile proved to meet these conditions. We have been active there since 2001. In addition to cultivation, harvesting and processing, the bulbs are also packed there and exported to Costa Rica, Mexico, Taiwan, China, Vietnam, the Netherlands, USA, Australia and Ecuador, among others.
